Meet Jenna, Founder of MUMMA MILLA
Mum of two, self-confessed soon-to-be soccer mum, and the founder of leakproof bra label Mumma Milla — Jenna knows firsthand how wild (and leaky) the early days of motherhood can be.
Her lightbulb moment? Packing for a trip to Greece with her first baby and realising there had to be a better option than stuffing her suitcase full of disposable nursing pads. Fast-forward to now, and her brand is helping mums feel supported, seen, and stylish through every season of motherhood (Sienna Miller included, no big deal).
We chatted with Jenna about business, boobs, and the beauty of letting the juggle just... be.
When did the idea for Mumma Milla first spark?
I was six months into breastfeeding my first baby, George and packing our bags for a holiday to Greece. I remember trying to squish in boxes of disposable nursing pads into my suitcase, and remember my lightbulb moment clearly! It was here when I began designing and developing a leakproof nursing bra.
What's the most rewarding part about building a brand for mums by a mum?
Motherhood is universal. We all go through the same things no matter who we are, where we are, so I love the fact Mumma Milla can help mums far and wide during all seasons of Motherhood.
Biggest "pinch me" moment so far running your business?
Sienna Miller wore our leakproof bandeau bralette out in Notting Hill - so that was a very cool moment.
What was your postpartum experience like? With hindsight, is there anything you'd do differently?
I wish respected my recovery phase post-birth a little more after my first birth. If I could do it again I would rest more, a lot more!
It's one of my missions at Mumma Milla to help educate mothers alongside some wonderful Midwives, Lactation consultants, doctors and doulas on post-birth, postpartum and what to expect.
What does your work/life juggle look like these days—and what’s your trick for making it work (even loosely)?
Life is definitely a juggle. My trick is to let it be!
Some days will be more out of balance than others, but In love having the flexibility to be there for my kids and family.
Tell us about your ideal day out with your little ones.
Our favourite day with the kids is jumping on the train to Fremantle for the best schnitzel sandwich (ever) at Peggy's and ice cream at Chi-cho Gelato over the road.
What's your go-to place/thing to do when you have a kid-free moment?
Pilates, or a walk out in the sun.
