Meet Lauren, Founder of RÈLIER Group
Dual Play is where we spotlight mums blending business with motherhood. In this edition, we’re travelling to the Sunshine State to chat fashion, dippy eggs and managing motherhood on your own terms and time.
Meet Lauren, the powerhouse behind RÈLIER group. Mum to a 20-month-old boy who’s currently sitting pretty in the top 0.5% of the world’s cutest kids (unofficial stats, confirmed by mum). She’s been “living, laughing, and loving” with baby daddy for seven years and is still waiting on that ring — but hey, who’s counting? 💅💍
What inspired you to start RÈLIER?
Being from the Gold Coast originally I had relocated to Melbourne for a few years and then to Sydney chasing my career dreams. In 2018 I was ready to come back to my home roots, but with the Gold Coast fashion office space being a little barren in comparison to the career playgrounds interstate, I knew if I wanted to continue working in the premium Australian designer space, I had to start something of my own.
I launched in 2020 after working remotely for Tigerlily for a few years et voila - 5 years later we're still here and doing it for the fashion and retail girlies across the country.
What’s the best part about running RÈLIER?
The freedom to parent during the day and work in my passion space in flexible hours. Recruitment is in some ways an 'always on' business so we can achieve results and outcomes outside of your traditional office hours. I love that I can work with people and brands I love and still deliver results without having to sacrifice these early years of memory making and motherhood during the day.
Describe your ideal day out with your plus one.
Our favourite morning is a long walk along Burleigh path to the point, a coffee for mum and a record-breaking time spent on the swing for my plus one, followed by dippy eggs and a babycino at Paddock Bakery.
Any places/activities/experiences on your family bucket list?
We're really excited to be heading to Yamba for the first time as a family.
Seaworld is on the list for a weekend activity soon and internationally I have my sights set on a Tokyo visit (insert petition for Dad to agree to a non-surfing trip here).
What’s your go-to place/thing to do when you have a kid-free moment?
I've invested in some professional development for myself in the last few months which has meant joining a peer advisory board for one full day of strategy a month and I am enjoying that extra time spent on the business - I do generally enjoy logging on in my spare time.
Apart from this coffee, pilates and yap with my nearest and dearest is a big cup-filler.
